February 13, 2014

Dear Covenant family,

“Christ has no body now on earth but yours,
no hands but yours,
no feet but yours,
Yours are the eyes through which to look out
Christ's compassion to the world
Yours are the feet with which he is to go about
doing good;
Yours are the hands with which he is to bless men now.”
(Teresa of
Avila)

This Sunday we will end our series ‘Build your House on the Rock’ out of Ephesians by discussing that God wants you to be incredibly secure in what you DO in Him.

‘For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do’ – Ephesians 2:10

What a calling and privilege! Look forward to see what that looks like for us this Sunday!

Dear Covenant family,

Weather and Services:

Our Vision and Planning meeting for tonight has been cancelled. Highway D still has some large icy/snowy spots. We don’t want to endanger anyone driving in the evening with black ice.

Put your snow boots on for this Sunday! It may be hard to clear our parking lot of snow completely, but the roads leading to the church should be fine, pending any unexpected snow showers….. Valet Parking is available, and a snow free path around the church has been cleared to help you walk to and from your vehicle. So we do hope to meet again – Lord Willing!

This past Sunday we welcomed about 15 brave travelers with the ice and had a good time sharing and praying with one another. Thanks to all those who made it.

Hope to see you all this Sunday. Here is a reminder of our theme:

‘I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened that you may know the hope to which he has called you’ – Eph 1:17,18

It’s time for a heart-warming subject in this cold weather, so let’s continue our series: ‘Build your House on the Rock’. We have said So Long to: Insecurity (week 1),  Condemnation (wk 2) and Selfishness (last week). This Sunday we will say goodbye to ‘hopelessness’. You can find hopelessness in many shapes and forms in our society today, but it often boils down to a life without the Presence, Hope and Power of Christ. Experiencing Him in your life makes all the difference, for nothing is impossible with God! He wants to make your life Rock Solid! Look forward to see you Sunday.
